Latest timetable (last updated 30th November 2018)
Our Latin dance classes normally run every week except for Easter Sunday and Christmas. Any other interruptions or exceptions will be announced on this page.
Dance Culture’s last in-person class of the year is scheduled for Thursday 20th December and we will resume Sunday 6th January (two weeks break)
Important information about Sunday 2nd December 2018:
The studio is unavailable so we will have a fun social day with some light learning at Kangaroo Point. This will double as our Christmas gathering.
There is another Latin dancing group who run social dancing in the same location once per month. They start at 3pm so this is what I’ve come up with:
Kangaroo Point Tiled area:
12noon Woodford Salsa team practice
1:00pm Yellow Belt lesson (30mins)
1:30pm Social dancing
1:45pm Orange Belt lesson (30 mins)
2:15pm Social dancing
2:30pm White Belt lesson (30 mins)
3:00pm Social dancing run by the other group til 7pm I think. They will play Salsa, Bachata, Zouk and possibly some other styles.
Back at the studio:
5:30pm Intro Class (final week) – volunteer leaders needed if you’re willing and able. I will be in contact with the Intro students to let them know the new plan for them.
We will have a battery operated PA system to play music at Kangaroo Point. You will definitely be able to hear the music. The climbers complained last time I used it 🙂
– sunscreen, hat
– picnic blanket/chair
– food, drink (BBQs all around)
– Christmas cheer
How do students pay?
All enrolments are processed through our secure website (the one you’re on now). The majority of our students first enrol in one of our Introduction courses and then sign up to one of our membership plans if they want to continue onto White Belt level classes.
What is covered by membership?
Our partnered Salsa, Bachata and Zouk weekly classes are covered by membership. Performance courses and other specialty courses are not covered by membership. Our 4-week Introduction to Latin Dancing is the starting point for the vast majority of our students and you can re-do this course for free.
Do I need a partner to join?
You do not need to bring a partner. During class we frequently “rotate” partners so that you will end up dancing with a range of people. This means that, from a social perspective, you will meet a bunch of cool people and, from a learning perspective, you will avoid developing bad habits (which often happens when couples only dance with each other).
Do I need any dance experience to join?
No, you don’t need any dance experience at all. In fact, we have grown a reputation for being an excellent place to get started with Latin dancing.
